I'm looking for a closed gaming headphones with great quality/fidelity audio

Gispah

Hello,

I am looking for a wired closed gaming headphone with great quality/fidelity audio. I will mainly play games (FPS, Battle Royal, Racing), listen to music and sometimes I will watch movies with it. My budget is around 250 ~ 300€.

At first I was looking for a wireless gaming headset, but I prefer to have quality/fidelity audio than wireless.

In my first thread they told me that the DT 770 Pro is a good headphones, but I wanna know what's the difference between the DT770 Pro and the DT700 Pro X. And what impedance should I go with do I need to buy an external audio card or something like that to enjoy its full potential?

Or do you guys have another better headphone to advice?

Thanks for your help.

Are you not open for open backs? When I first experienced open back headphones I never really wanna go back. Unless it is really loud around your room etc. But the DT 700 Pro X is newer and has a detachable cable unlike the 770. Seems like the pads and the design is 10 times better and has better longevity in terms of comfort and build quality. The sound would probably not be super amazingly different compared to the 770 pros but the drivers seem to be easier to drive on the 700 Pro X.

As for impedance. All beyer headphones are pretty hard to drive. Even 80ohm versions are quiet on motherboards for what I know and don't sound as good as the 250ohm model when amped and paired with a good DAC or an amp/DAC combo. There are very cheap amp/DAC combos for just around 50$ which are muuuch better than onboard sound.

PM or DM me if you have any questions about audio.

Hey,

thanks for you answer.

Well I already tried open back and I don’t like it.

Do you think I should go for the DT700 Pro X over the DT770 Pro ?
So I should go for 250 ohm?

Do you have a great amp/DAC to advise please ?

Go for the 700 pro x if you have the budget. As for an amp/DAC I'd say the FX Audio DAC X6 from Amazon. Or the Fosi Audio DAC Q4.

What about the IFI AUDIO ZEN DAC V2 for the Amp/Dac?

Is it a good one ?

I mean yeah. If you have the money for that go for it. Also if you want software, the Sound Blaster G6 is also a good idea based off of your budget.

Is there any big difference between the Sound Blaster G6 and IFI AUDIO ZEN DAC V2 ?

Isn’t the Sound Blaster tuned to be a little bit more « gaming » than neutral?

It is not tuned at all if you don't want it to be. Check real measurements from "audiophiles" and see for yourself. It is a very good DAC/amp really for any usage. It looks "gamery" yeah I can agree but it does the same job as any other DAC/amp.
