Undervolting Zen3 (5600X)

Hello,

has anyone undervolted a 5600X or any zen3 CPU, if yes how much did the power draw changed?
I want to run a mini server 24/7 and now I have a Raspberry Pi 4 8GB and I wonder how much power does a 5600X draw when undervolted to at least 1.1v or similar.

I'm using 3600 with windows power saver power plan, it reduces the voltage to from 1.4v to 1.1v and core clock to around 3-3.5ghz automatically.

Core+Soc 15-20w from 30-45w idle, temp 40-42c from 50c idle.

Using PowerPlanSwitcher so i can switch power plan from the taskbar.

Hope it helps.

Hey Supa, can you do me a small favor please?

Can you open cpu-z and click the about tab. Then click "save report .txt".

Open the file and scroll down to the p-states. Copy paste them here??

p.s. must be done at all defaults.

(please and thanks!)

Thank you.

3.6ghz 1.1v

Now if someone has a 5600X, could do the same thing, we'll have a very close answer. Might be able to guesstimate the wattage, or just use hwinfo64 to make some determinations.

If its helpful I see my 5600X use the same kind of vcore as my 5900X, so from .212v up to about 1.525v when rockin the full glory of PBO using hwinfo64 to monitor.

Sure 5900x will do. Gotta be at defaults or the pstates might get skewed. Please and thanks! 🙂

If you want to lower power draw and make the CPU more efficient turn off 'turbo' or whatever AMD is calling it. You'll force the CPU to run much closer to it's advertised wattage.
