upgrading optiplex 7040 desktop graphics card

i currently own an optiplex 7040 dell and want to upgrade it to a better graphics card, and a better case

 

Graphics care: GTX 1050 ti 

 

Is this a good idea, and i have i missed something i should be aware of ?

your docs aren't even accessible.

 

regardless the optiplex 7040 uses a non standard motherboard , case and power supply so no I wouldn;t put anything higher end in that machine without a significant overhaul.

Aw yes sorry I thought I made the Google doc public 

 

It is now 🙂

 

I noticed that the current power supply is only 240 watts, I used a calculator and I need about 500 watts to be on the safe side

 

What kind of graphics card would you suggest ?.
