PLEASE HELP - Monitor only displays 1080p when Freesync turned on

I got an LG 32QN600 display, 1440p, 75hz, Freesync. When I plugged it in it would only display 60hz and Freesync was off. When I turned Freesync on, the refresh went to 75hz, but the res went down to 1080p, and I can't find any way to display 1440 with 75hz. Is this just a design flaw, or could there be a way to achieve that? Thank you!

Problem may have been fixed by switching from DisplayPort to HDMI, now displaying at 1440 with 75hz. Although Freesync is turned on in the monitor's settings, there is no option for it in my Nvidia Control Panel (I'm using a GTX 1080ti)
