M.2 PCIE 4 not working in Asus Prime B560 Plus

Hello ,

I have built a new pc myself and I have one problem, my PCIE 4.0 m.2 slot is not working and I had to install my ssd on gen 3.0 slot
and then I bought a new ssd and now that gen 4.0 slot is not still working and I can't find the reason.

Don't know what to do

What cpu do you have ?

Comet Lake (10th gen) CPU I guess? These CPUs are PCIe 3.0 max and dont have dedicated 4 lanes for the top M.2 slot that Ryzen and 11th gen have.

I have an Core I5 10400f and as it turns out the first m.2 slot (Gen 4.0) is disabled for 10th gen cpus but I want to use it for a gen 3.0 SSD,
is there a way to enable it?

no  As I said, 10th gen lacks the PCIe lanes needed which is hard wired to the CPU socket.

Ok thanks , I think i need to replace them with a SATA SSD
