Tell me if my build is good!

Alcoz

Hm, there's a few things I would change:

  • That i3 and motherboard is pretty expensive, you can probably get something better for a little more money.
  • Nowadays you can get a pretty fast 1TB SSD for the price of that 500GB SSD and 2TB HDD, I'm not sure if you need the extra space though.
  • That power supply is pretty cheap, it's probably pretty bad quality; you don't really want to cheapen out on power supplies, your system won't last too long with a cheaper one
  • You can get a motherboard or PCIe card with Wi-Fi, which will probably work better than that USB adapter.

Here's a build I made that should be better. Feel free to swap the 1TB SSD for your 500GB SSD and 2TB HDD. It's 620$ without the mail in rebates, I'm not sure if you mind the higher price.

So you see, that CPU doesn't come with an iGPU. And I don't see a dGPU in the build. So no video output.

I'd probably suggest going with the i5 10400 instead.

That said, I haven't checked the price.

If you think I'm wrong, correct me. If I've offended you in some way tell me what it is and how I can correct it. I want to learn, and along the way one can make mistakes; Being wrong helps you learn what's right.

Thank you this was very helpful! No the price difference does not matter to me but the storage does since I download a lot of large files and do a lot of virus testing which can use a lot of my storage. Thank you for your list, and thank you for putting some of your time into helping me!

That's true! My bad, sorry for the mistake @Alcoz.

The 10600K is 20$ more expensive and has an iGPU, but if you can't afford that, then go for the i5 10400 instead.
