Window Projection On Whiteboard / Projector Project

Hi everyone. A few weeks ago I watched this one video on YouTube where a Grad student was able to project a Wallpaper Engine background onto his wall, using some sort of projector / software, without the actual use of a projector. I remember the video mentioning a HDMI or Displayport cable being used to actual feed the signal from his PC into the wall, where they had setup some sort of backdrop i.e. whiteboard / projector screen. No TVS / Monitors were actually used. Does anyone have some sort of Idea or could point me in the right direction for this type of setup? It looked really cool and I was thinking of placing a New York Window Skyline 4-8k resolution as a live wallpaper from Wallpaper Engine onto it.

What a waste of energy, but ok.

There's no way an image appeared on the wall without a projector or TV.

this is the projector they recommend

Well having had several projectors, i can already asure you just by checking the specs.
That thing is dog shite. Only 800 Lumens, which would mean you need a really dark room before even able to see anything.
And the resolution is from 1990... 480 x 272
The price is good, but the specs are not. I'd stay away.

And get at least 2000 lumens, and at least 720p native resolution. If you want to enjoy yourself.

When i ask for more specs, don't expect me to know the answer!

Yeah, I've been searching all day for a decent projector without breaking the bank. Prices go from cheap portable outdoor / pocketable projectors to full blown home cinemas. Starts getting into high prices 55+ inch TVS, which I think I might just go with
