What's the logic on how logitech name their mice?

kitnoman

So I'm kind of shopping around for another peripherals on discount and It suddenly bugged me how logitech name some of their products. I get the pro line up. Howeverl, normally, 1st gen starts 100 r and the next gen would be 200 and so on, right. But why does some logitech gaming mice with a lower number  a newer product? It the number base on their "tier" placement  in pricing or features instead of which one is newer? Just kind of curious and all

Usually (not always, but usually) for their G### mice, the bigger the number, the bigger the mouse. The G502 is bigger than the G305, and the G604 is bigger than the G502. That said, don't try to decode the model numbers when looking at their mice. You want to judge the mice based off the shape, weight, sensor, and button amount, all of which have nothing to do with the model number.
