download all files from an ftp

gt710
Go to solution Solved by Herr.Hoefkens,

also thinking about it , it might be worth looking if the host/ftp , also supports webdav... its a little faster and supports partials.

and has chrome/firefox ever supported downloading a whole tree in ftp? never knew,...

since firefox and chrome stop ftp support how can i be able to download every file from an ftp server
the server has no password or username ect

im still able to open the ftp link in internet explorer and go into the folder and download each file one by one but there is over 300 files this would take a while to go threw and start downloading each file

wget (commandline) exists for windows linux and mac so.

wget -r ftp://username:password@ftp.yourhost.domain/* # recursivly download everything
wget -m ftp://username:password@ftp.yourhost.domain/ # mirror the ftp locally

another option using gui would be Filezilla Client , winscp  or cyberduck gftp smartftp,

and when on windows you can in "this computer" coose add network drive , slect ftp .... fill in the dialogs and the fpw will appear as a netwoirk folder in this computer. so you can just ctrl+a ctrl+c , and +v where you want. note that this is probably the worst solution if you have to move allot of data/files around.

edit forgot about this one: for firefox you can use an extention like http://fireftp.net/
