IPhone 13 vs iPhone 13 Pro

Hi, so I have been contemplating wether to buy the iPhone 13 or 13 Pro. I am from the UK so the difference is £170 or $200 and I can’t decide wether it is worth that amount more for what you get? If anyone has any opinions please let me know.

Thanks

The 120Hz screen alone makes the Pro the one to buy.

Meanwhile i'm sitting here with my 12 Pro Max that i'm going to run for another year.. We'll see what iPhone 14 looks like.

High refresh screen is the way to go. While theirs needs some work, I'll never go back to a screen that isn't high refresh.

So you would say that it is worth £170 just for the 120Hz screen and better battery and camera?

it's 100% subjective.

I personally enjoy 120 Hz. Everywhere. Games, scrolling, Desktop, it just looks good.

I even wish, Movies would be shot at much higher than 24 fps.

So for me, i would've payed the Pro-Tax just for ProMotion alone, even if cameras were identical.

Other people don't see much of a difference, and/or don't care enough on a phone. Which is fine i guess, iOS is the best 60 hz experience kinda.

But.. I liked it on the iPad Pro with IPS, and i like it on the Oled. I think, ProMotion gives the iPhone the smoothness it deserves (with such an overpowered SoC).

Though i wish, iOS Animations weren't this slow.

Display: slightly brighter, and ProMotion.

Camera: slightly better Main sensor, much better Ultra-Wideangle (auto focus, makro!!!), and a Tele camera for portrait shots and better zoom. 15x digital zoom vs. only 5~

Biggest difference is the Tele sensor, the other 2 are not that much different, just a bit different at night.

Battery: 13 vs. 13 Pro is very very very similar, depending on what you do. Ignore that fact.

Weight: Pro is sadly stainless steel, so it's heavier. But i guess it's more durable.

Features: ProRes, if you want to edit your Videos afterwards.

13 is a good iPhone, and does the job.

13 Pro is a better iPhone, it's "more complete" if you may say so. It "checks more boxes", and leaves less compromises. Are those differences important for you to have?

As a 13 Pro owner, I'd say it mostly comes down to one question: how important is the camera to you?

The 13 Pro is great for someone like me. I crave that telephoto lens for portraits and shot composition; I appreciate the macro mode for super-close photos; I like the wider apertures and the improved focusing/portraiture that comes with LiDAR. But I also know I'm not a typical user. If you just want high-quality standard photos and maybe the occasional ultra-wide, the regular 13 is more than fine.

After that, it's more about how exacting you are. I do like the 120Hz display, but I wouldn't be heartbroken if I had to go without. The battery life is more immediately helpful, but that also depends on how you use your phone; if you rarely spend a long time away from a charger, you probably won't hurt too much.

If I 'just' wanted a speedy phone that took a nice photo every now and then, I'd stick to regular the iPhone 13. But I'm demanding enough that I wasn't going to be happy unless I had the 13 Pro.

Which camera (main/ultra-wide/telephoto/front), and under what conditions? Mine have been fine, but even a really good phone camera is limited by the laws of physics.
