Temperature ryzen 5 5600x in games

Go to solution Solved by RONOTHAN##,

Ryzen's boost algorithm is very weird, but because only a few cores are being used while gaming, it runs at a higher voltage and core clocks. It's not that out of the ordinary. With my system (water cooled 5900X), In RDR2 it hits 75C at the max, but in prime95 it hovers in the high 60s. You're temperatures do see fairly normal, I wouldn't really worry about them.

hi guys ,i recently changed my ryzen 5 3600 for a 5600x ,but i find it very curious that in stress tests(cpu-z , prime95 , cinebench 23) it reaches using all its cores an average of 65-70º degrees , while playing Apex Legends the temperatures are 65-77º at maximum room temperature using less cores.
with my ryzen 5 3600 the temperatures were between 60-70º Playing BUT in the stress tests the temperatures were between 70-80º.
I use a hyper 212 Black Edition , with 6 Arctic P12 PWM fans in the case, ambient temp is 30-37ºC(I know it's pretty hot).
The temperatures are normal considering the heatsink I use and the ambient temperature?

Will there not be a reduction in service life at these temperatures?

The TJmax of the 5600X is 95C. You're nowhere near that. You will, however, see a potential reduction in max boost when you get over 70C due to Precision Boost (not to be confused with PBO), but not much.

temps would need to be 85C+ consistently to raise those concerns

Not really, those temps are fine. As long as they're long not around 90, you're fine

I get 643 single core and 4750 multicore points in cpu-z Bench I think it's ok. 😅
