I have a MSI B450M-A PRO MAX motherboard , I would like to know if the 

"DEEPCOOL RF120 FS 120mm Case Fan 3-in-1 Pack - (DP-FLED3-RF120FS-3P)" would need any adapter for the rgb to light up , I have a DeepCool Matrexx 40 Case.

I checked the product page of the Case fans. Looks like only a PWM connector is necessary for installation. A Fan hub is included too, so you only need one free PWM port on your motherboard.
It also looks like there is a controller for the RGB if you dont have an rgb header on your motherboard. (I dont know if its included). This controller runs on SATA power.

For the RF120 FS fans you wouldn't need an adapter to get the lighting to work as each fan comes with 6 built-in LEDs and would only need to be connected to a CPU_FAN/CPU_OPT header on your motherboard to be fully functioning. Since the LEDs are non customizeable, once you connect the fans to the CPU_FAN/CPU_OPT header it will have the power necessary to enable the lighting to work without the need of a RGB adapter/controller.
