A student who is not interested in computer science can do better than a student who is interested, what do you say?

I am in class 2 in the IT field, it is a pity to look at when I am interested in IT and a student from the class who is not interested in IT and chose this profession to earn in the future, it is better to learn IT faster than me.

In the 4th grade, I knew how to install Operating Systems in a virtual machine, I knew how to assemble a computer, what it consists of, and how each computer component works. In my spare time, I watch movies on the Internet or read about computer science.

 

A student from the class who in appearance cannot distinguish Ubuntu or other Linux from Windows 10, who in his spare time browses Facebook with his mothers during a break at school, who cannot take the computer apart, another student who said that the router works at 2.4 MHz and 5Mhz confused Mhz with Ghz. He understands computer networks better at once everything in the lesson he understands quickly learns but he is not interested in computer science. He does not know how to distinguish Ubuntu from Windows 10, but he can use the commands that were in the lesson right away in the same lesson, I had to spend 2 hours at home to learn these commands to understand them well. I do not know why it is like that. What can I do with this.

Computer science has not much to do with your regular techie stuff.

 

Learning how to install an operating system or know which exact frequencies your router works on has nothing to do with actually coding an OS or knowing how packages are routed in a network.

 

Many people give up on computer science because they believe that, because they like games or know how to fix the internet at home makes then good at computers, whereas CS is a science and requires you to study books and theories, and not watch LTT all day long.

Computer science is discrete math, calculus, data structures, advanced logic, and so on. CS has nothing to do with your previous experience of installing an OS or anything of that nature. On the flip side I know dozens of extremely smart computer scientists who don't know anything about the hardware they are using, cyber security, networking, and so on. Personally I think based upon the definition, "A scientist who uses computers to solve problems" you should know everything full stack from software to hardware and everything else. But then that's sorta where computer engineering came from

I have always found it easier to teach or train those who have little to zero knowledge about a subject than one who is knowledgeable. The one who is educated in it usually has bad habits already and don't tend to follow simple procedures.

People simply aren't equal with regards to learning skills, you'll have people listening to something with one ear and who will understand/memorize straight away and some who still can't get it after going through it 10 times with all their concentration...

 

But usually people who have a hard time with one thing have it easy with a different one even if it's a completely different subject.

In school, we learn things like a command in Windows that will create 10 users at once. Or IPv4 addressing that won't come in handy if you don't want to become a network operator. Half of the things we have in school about computer science I know and I get good grades from them.

Maybe Information Technology (IT) is confused here with Computer Science (CS). CS as I know it from universities is more about the details behind it like chip design, AI, efficient algorithms, thinking about new or better ways to do things etc. The CS people invent, design or make what the IT people subsequently use to set up infrastructure and what not. In the context of your points: designing an OS I think falls under CS while installing it falls under IT; designing the network protocol is CS, setting up a company's network infrastructure is IT.

If you enjoy what you are studying and are getting good grades, what does it matter that someone else in the class remembers something quicker? Feeling competitive is fine. Just keep remembering that everyone studies and remembers at slightly different paces.

Everyone has their talents and faults.  Focus on yourself, and don't worry about when others succeed where you fail, or fail where you succeed.

It is great to form teams with people that have other talents than yourself, but there is no point in getting worked up or feeling bad because others have talents that you do not posses.  

Hard work and dedication can carry people a long way, you don't need natural aptitude, though it helps.

Language problem.

In general in English IT = building, setting up, maintaining computers, app suites and networks. CS = Using computers to solve a problem with lots of math and algorithms. CS people usually don't know or care about how to make the computer work, but how to program an already working computer (that IT provides them with) to solve some computational problem.

CS will have some introductory courses to IT basics but it's not going to go in depth or be the main focus.

Not being interested means you don’t go in with precincieved notions on how stuff should work and be done. 
 

This can lead to one having a wider view on problemsolving and being able to actually push development an innovation.

Installing an OS is not on any standard CS course curriculum. You can be a race car driver and not know how to change the oil in your car. The same applies to computer science and the computers they use. A programmer in C might know how to access memory and use things like double pointers but that has no dependency if its DDR4 or DDR3 and so on

When I first started using Linux on a Regular basis, I tried to learn BASH. The MS-DOS Commands are simple in comparison. And there are so many along with all the switches...

Computer Science is really more about numbers and understanding how data is structured and how to piece them together. Even if you take a hardware course, it's not about how to build a computer today, it's about how to build the actual CPU and memory using mathematical logic and logical proofs. 

 

For someone who's really interested in a career in IT, Business Technology Management might be more for you.

It does happened. Some people are just better at digesting textbook/lecture materials and do better on exams. You might be able to install an operating system but how well can you deduced the boolean expression for a combinational circuit for example? If you aren't academically focused, you will probably struggled compare to students who are just mathematically and academically oriented.

don't care so much. everyone is different and have different methods of learning. Some people are just naturally better at learning new things.

 

You don't need to have an interest in something to be good at it, and vice versa, just because you're interested in something, doesn't automatically mean you're good at it.
