Why wouldn't I? I mean, yes, I do not have a 3D printer, so it would be entirely pointless and I'm quite satisfied with my current case, but I would if it'd make sense.

Nope, that's the standard shape for DDR4.

Hello folks! I am very interested in knowing how they get the PCI backplate, you know where you screw your PCIe cards?

i don't even know a proper name for this part, i have always seen it being an integral part of the case.

When i make my own cases, i use a L shaped aluminim extruded part, and i drill and tap, but this would be cleaner!

So what is it named, and where can one obtain such parts?

Wow, that machine is SIIIICCCKKK! 🥰

And so is the price :old-surprised: For Euro-land, about 3k if you factor in shipping and local VAT for the basic model.

That's quite the case!  I'm not sure what's more impressive, that it has what looks like coas and vga in. Or what looks like a button you toggle to power it on. and here I thought my enjoyment of RGB  was impressive. It's pretty cool looking though.

And yeah 3D printing has..stalled or something because it's still, finicky AF.

............ my wallet hurts thinking about that. I thought the EU chunked VAT into prices. Is that in Euros? or local curency? Only asking because some places didn't play well with the EU (Looking at you Nats, and David Cameron)

It does. But E3D is in the UK, so no UK VAT, but EU tax after import duty & shipping. And yeah, it's in Euro, as I'm in Euro-land, which I was referring to 😛

I blame Colin for this because as a fellow sparky he should know this tool.

https://www.homedepot.ca/product/ridgid-pc-1250-pvc-and-plastic-tubing-cutter/1000179605

Use this instead of an knife and your tube cuts will not only be faster, safer, and easier, but FAR cleaner and square.  I have never tried it but I bet it would work on hard line as well.

That is neither COAX nor VGA. Do you mean DVI? And those "coax" are ports for wifi antennas.

Once the ease of use, and price of very large resin based 3D printers improves, ill certainly be getting one. So handy.

Extruder 3D printers lack the finish quality i'd prefer in scenarios like this one, though a cheap small one is certainly a smart buy for 'basic' parts creation, like little clamps and clips and such, even consumable molds to be used in metal fab.

You can just go with like .1mm layer heights to make things really smooth. Resin will probably always be like that due to the nature of it.

Very well thought out case design. i was worried a bit at the start thinking that some components might get hot enough to soften the plastic which would not be great.

My laptop is held up by a PLA+ bracket with the exhaust blowing on it, and it's been fine for months now, the bend has been the same since day 1. Needed to be a lot thicker, or add one more wood bit somewhere someday if things change.
