Overclocking issues with my MSI RTX 3090

Scott103

Hi all,

I've been trying to overclock my MSI RTX 3090 to have higher FPS in Warzone using MSI Afterburner.

First off, I've been unable to increase the power limit % to anything higher than 100%. I have read things about it and it seems like it could be locked in the BIOS (for a potentially valid reason), so I guess I shouldn't mess with it.

Also, I have been unable to increase the core clock to anything higher than 60MHz with my memory clocks set to +0MHz for Warzone otherwise the game crashes. I've read that the game is pretty sensitive so crashes with an overclocked GPU can be frequent, however I have been reading a lot of threads with people successfully overclocking their 3090 (not MSI) to easily reach values like Core clock +200 and Memory clock +400 and even higher and experiencing no crashes in Warzone.

Do you guys think it is related to the fact that I cant increase my power limit? Is there a way for me to safely overclock my GPU?

Which MSI card is it? If it's got a factory overclock it's normal to not go much higher than 50 or so. If it's a low end card it could also have a chip that binned low and can't do more.

Overclock is out of spec, every single unit will behave differently.
