Thoughts on my First Gaming PC

Deltatiger

Budget (including currency): 2000 USD (in INR, so around 150K INR)

Country: India / Chennai

Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for:

Building one mainly for Gaming and some programming work (pet projects mostly).

Games:

CSGO

Games like Witcher (cinematic games?)

Battle Field / CoD

Civilization (Anno?)

Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc):

I just got a Nvidia 3070 TI FE after waiting for couple of months at MSRP (55K INR / 750 USD). So going to build a PC intended for 1440p gaming. I like keeping the settings at high unless I can't really run it.

Upgrading from a laptop with a dead gpu.

Will get the monitor later on (maybe couple of months).

Couple of questions I had,

  • Air cooling vs AIO ? I live in a place that is mostly hot (ambient 34+ in the summer) so unsure of what I should get.
  • 5800x vs 5600x ? I am not sure if I need a 5800x or would it be better if I upgrade the GPU after couple of years?

Thank you for your feedback

I think your list is perfect, I would recommend upscaling the ram to 3600mhz, and if your planning on playing a lot of games, only 512 gigs will run out really fast.

To your questions:

1- A High performative air cooler (like the one you listed), will perform on par or even better than an AIO cooler around that price.

2- I'd choose the 5800X as the 5600X is an awesome cpu but might bottleneck your 3070Ti

Hope this helps!

Thank you for the feedback. I will get faster RAM. I was planning on getting more storage as a 7200 RPM HDD. Will see if I can get a better SSD for now.

Thank you so much for the IN links. I will take a look at and adopt whatever is possible.
