Asus G703 Wifi upgrade problem?

yolgezer

I want to update the wifi card of the Asus G703gs notebook model, which is the intel 9560 wifi card I am using, I have seen those who use it with the ax200, but is the new ax210 compatible?

As long as it has the A/E keys and is a similar form factor to the Intel 9560 (2230), it should be fine.

I'm not sure if it requires a special external antenna for 6GHz, but from the images I see, it uses the same 2 connectors as adapters from previous generations.

My question is are there even WiFi 6E routers out yet? Ive been kinda curious on performance.

I just want to sit back and watch the world burn.

There are a few, but they're quite expensive.

Its definitely going to be sub-optimal for 6Ghz likely reducing the range, but as its close to the top end of the 5Ghz range I'd expect it to still work fairly well close to the router/AP.

Also I found the AX210 faster on 5Ghz than the AX200 especially on the upper 5Ghz band.  This is perhaps due to the support for 6Ghz meaning the amplifiers need to work better at the higher frequency range, whereas typically on 5Ghz people don't use the upper channels (the Nintendo Switch wont even see my AP on channel 149, I guess they didn't bother to update the regulatory domain info when the UK made that range license free a few years back).

Router:  Intel N100 (pfSense) WiFi6: Zyxel NWA210AX (1.7Gbit peak at 160Mhz)
WiFi5: Ubiquiti NanoHD OpenWRT (~500Mbit at 80Mhz) Switches: Netgear MS510TXUP, MS510TXPP, GS110EMX
ISPs: Zen Full Fibre 900 (~930Mbit down, 115Mbit up) + Three 5G (~800Mbit down, 115Mbit up)
Upgrading Laptop/Desktop CNVIo WiFi 5 cards to PCIe WiFi6e/7
