marcuzx

where can i buy a legit copy of windows for around 50? also what other operating systems could be used for gaming but that are free? sadly the only legit windows that i have is vista and i cannot even upgrade that to win 10 or 11. so what website sells you the real version along with key and everything. i don’t want a one time key from ebay. i want the real legit key. kind of sad why they don’t just make windows 100% free

The only way to buy a Windows key 100% legit is to buy it from Microsoft. If you don't care about that, get a key from ebay for $10. Even if you need to buy another one because it didn't work, you'll still come out ahead.

If you need another OS that will work for gaming, Try Pop_OS! It's a Linux distribution that has all the drivers and stuff on it to be able to game right out of the box. It's free, open-source, and can play most games other than games with aggressive anti-cheat, though even those are starting to work thanks to valve. If you wanna check if the games you want to play work on Pop_OS!, go to protondb.com, and see if they work.

Get it when the product is on sale from a retailer / MSFT themselves.
Otherwise we're not allowed to talk about markets that sell discounted codes, as they're considered "Grey-Markets."

I think we are allowed to discuss grey market codes.  Such as Ebay, scdkey, g2a, etc.  We have before in the past, haven't been warned about it.

That said, you either get a 100% legit code from Microsoft or you get a grey (or an even less legit one someplace that has a Bay, for example. There is no legit key for $50, unless you're a student maybe?

You'd like Linux then. You can run a DE like KDE Plasma, customize the heck out of it, and basically end up with Windows Vista. Check out /r/unixporn if you wanna see what you can make stuff look like.

The only 100% legitimate, MSFT recommended site for purchasing Windows 10/11 would be - https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/store/b/windows?icid=CNavSoftwareWindows&activetab=pivot:shopwindows10tab

You can get a 'legit' copy of Microsoft Windows from either Microsoft themselves, or an authorised reseller.

Overclockers UK is an authorised UK reseller of Windows 10, for example. Unfortunately, as you can see, their prices don't really differ much from the Microsoft official store. Sometimes they are more expensive, in fact. Unless you legitimately have no means of downloading the Windows 10 installer, so you need someone to send you a pre-loaded USB stick, there's no real reason to go down this route.

The 'grey market' that people keep talking about is an area of dubious legality/authenticity. These are places from which you can buy the code for a fraction of the price that Microsoft sells it. A large number (the vast majority, probably) of people use 'grey market' codes without experiencing any issues whatsoever. A small number of people who use grey market codes can end up having their licences revoked by Microsoft, however - there's no guarantee that your code will either work in the first place or continue to work indefinitely, and... well, as the name suggests, it's a grey area.

However, if you're prepared to deal with the occasional nagging and being unable to change your desktop background, you can just install Windows 10 from the official installer that I linked to above. It's otherwise fully-functional, and probably just as 'grey' as buying a grey market code.

All cheap keys are from the grey market so it's not legit.
Only cheap legit keys are OEM, but they need that you buy a whole system to get it. Some place just sell it by itself.

Cheapest legit Win10 key sold by Amazon themselves.

It is 100% free. You can use Windows 10 completely free with a watermark and a few limitations you'll never notice.

Alternatively, the best way to get a dirty-ho cheap legit Windows key is to go to any yard sale in the world, explain to them why their garbage pile of a 2010 HP Pavilion is worthless in 2021, offer them $5 for it, then use the Windows 7 key on the case to activate Windows 10.

Aerocool DS are the best fans you've never tried.

umm what version to download for linux?

Up to the users' preferences.
Personally Pop_OS! is my favorite fork at the moment.
However Fedora is my alternative.

This hasn't been true for a few years. You can play most games on pretty much any Linux distro with Steam/Proton installed. There's generally a performance hit and the possibility of some glitches, but you can absolutely launch most games.
