how is the iphone for oled burn in

DarthBudgie

just really curious, it its worth to upgrade from the normal 11. the battery life is pretty bad so it would be nice to get a 13 but im wondering how the displays on iphones are as far as oled.  and if any of you have burn in on the display

should i be worried about oled burn on iphones i know it was a huge problem for me on my s9 i would use tiktok alot just scrolling through. and it ended up burning onto my screen like the little plus button.

You cannot escape burn-in and it depends on the user. Higher the brightness, more burn-in there is.

I've never seen burn-in on any OLED phones in normal use, only on display units in stores where they're literally displaying the same thing in a loop 24/7 at max brightness for 6 months to a year.

I've had an iPhone XS for three years and haven't seen any burn-in. Just be reasonable about it: don't spend too much time on any one app (i.e. multiple hours in TikTok isn't good for either your phone or your health), don't set your screen timeout to a long period, that sort of thing.

I saw an engineer a few months ago with some crazy burn-in on his Galaxy S9. He’d been watching (or listening to) a lot of a specific channel with static elements that very visibly burned in.

Youtube apparently holds your OLEDs hostage for their Premium membership. 😝

For what it's worth, I've had an iPhone X since launch and I've never had any issues with burn in.
