My Rival 105 from SteelSeries is bugging out and whenever I plug it into a USB hub or a usb port , the port dies. Any fixes?

I got a rival 105 as a gift from a friend but once i plugged it in the usb hub or port turns off

After i remove the mouse from the hub or port it turns on again
I cant rma cuz my friend lost the receipt so i wanna know whether this is smth i can fix
