RAM: 3200 CL14 or 3600 CL16

Go to solution Solved by Arrogath,

Your effective delay in nanoseconds should be fairly close across the two kits, with slightly more memory throughput on the 3600 kit depending on what sort of tertiary timings and how many ranks make up the sticks.

Game performance wise it should be fairly close, although a few games may slightly prefer the higher bandwidth (such as CoD Warzone) but you should look into some benchmarks of your cpu choice with the two different memory to see what sort of difference to expect. I suggest you check with games you actually want to play if possible

Hi 🙂

For a rig that is aimed at gaming and typical office work, what would be better to go for (and why) in terms of RAM: 3200 CL14 or 3600 CL16?

Thanks!

Chances are that the 3200C14 will do 3600C14 or better. They are the better sticks..

Depends on if it’s 14-14-14-34 or 14-16-16… if the former then yes, if the latter or worse then probably not
