Can i use 3000mhz ram stick with 3200mhz ram in dual channel ?

I currently have a single corsair vengeance 8gb 3000mhz running at 3200mhz in my system(stable). i wanted to upgrade and add another 8gb stick. if i get a corsair vengeance 3200mhz ram stick, are my current 3000mhz ram running at 3200mhz and new 3200mhz ram compatible  for running in dual channel ?

i believe there was a vido on this a few months back, basically yes, the ram speed will be the same as teh slower stick though, so where you get the benefits of another 8GB of ram you wont get the full 3200mhz out of it.

They'll both default to 3000 Mhz after you install that 2nd stick. And the timings that are supported by both - the loosest of the two. 

Afterwards, you can try to get them both to 3200 Mhz and you'll probably be able to, if your system is stable with a single stick.
