I want to help my friend with his first build

Talong16

Hello, so, my friend is gonna build his first pc soon, and when he showed me his parts list i tough it could be better:

So, since I'm still pretty new to the pc building/planning world, I was hoping someone could help me out with this:

https://pcpartpicker.com/list/YJbT68 : This is my friend's list, a couple of components were not registered in pc part picker, i thought this list is a little unbalanced.

https://pcpartpicker.com/list/BMpzqp : This is an improvised list that I pulled together, I think the system will be faster with these few changes.

So, I want to hear an opinion about my list, to see if better or not, or, if someone has the time to pull a new list around the same budget (1000 Us Dollars) I would really appreciate it!

(English is not my main language so I apologize if there's a part that is not understandable)

I'm building something similar for my daughter 🙂 Does your friend actually need a HDD? because he might be better off getting a higher capacity SSD as they're cheap, unless he had no spare HDD's and really needs the extra space. Like say a 1TB WD Black or Blue SSD.

Also, I don't think you need a CPU cooler because Ryzen processors include a pretty good one (unless you wanna get a really beefy cooler later on).

Here are some suggestions: I added a tier A motherboard (Steel Legend b450 was tier D) and a 1TB SSD.
