RAM stuck at 2666Mhz

Specs:

i5 10400F

Gigabyte B560 Aorus Elite

Corsair RGB 3000Mhz CL15 2X8GB

(cmr16gx4m2c3000c15)

MSI Gaming X 6600 XT

Corsair 550W PSU

 

I set the XMP profile and that refuses to post, so I started entering things manually. The PC accepts 3066Mhz at CL15 and Windows reports that it is intact running at 3066Mhz, yet CPU-Z and the BIOS say it's still running at 2666Mhz. I can run it at regular SPD speed of 2133Mhz no problem so it works below 2666Mhz, but the moment I try go above that it's just stuck no matter how much I fiddle with timings or voltages. I'm aware anything over 2666 is considered an OC with this CPUs memory controller, so maybe I'm just REALLY unlucky here, but I don't believe that to be true, I feel like I'm missing something. Attached is an image showing what I mean, the system accepted and booted at 3000Mhz for example, but is reporting it at 2666Mhz. Any ideas guys? Thank you!

Max RAM speed for 10th gen core i5 is 2666. You'll need an 11th gen to get higher speeds on B560.

I had a similar problem when initially setting up my rig, but... you can see why the problem was easily solved lol.

Current Rig: Intel Core i9-11900k, ASUS PRIME Z590-V, 32GB DDR4, 2.0 TB worth of SSD storage, MSI GeForce GTX 1050 TI, all in the MSI MAG FORGE 100r chassis with Corsair RM850 PSU.
