Corsair 680X and large GPUs..

Go to solution Solved by birdflyer,

If you don't mind a full sized case and the price, the standard O11 from Lian Li is also great: https://www.amazon.com/Lian-Li-O11DXL-W-Tempered-Retail/dp/B07XLF7TBR/

Hi guys,

I’m trying to fit this air cooled Sapphire 6900XT in Corsair 680X along with 360mm AIO installed in the front panel (as show in pic below), any thoughts on how to deal with this?

It certainly doesn’t fit directly on the motherboard and it is installed in a jankiest way vertically.

Thanks

I assume there is no room for the AIO in the top of the case?

is it just the backplate and shroud of the GPU that doesn't clear the rad?

you could deshroud the GPU or try slim fans on the rad.

I guess those are the straight forward solutions but was hoping that someone had a solution that I’m unaware of

It’s the AIO that’s causing all the trouble, I guess that’s one way of doing it since the heatpipes don’t reach all the way to the end

Too bad.

Unfortunately, as @HairlessMonkeyBoy said, those are some of your only options without physically modifying components.

If you did want to go with one of those options, I would highly recommend the cooler option. However if you went with a new case, Lian Li is making some pretty great cases these days.

This case from Lian Li has close to the same aesthetics and form factor as your old case but you should be able to fit quite a lot more into it with (somewhat) better airflow: https://www.amazon.com/Lian-Li-Dynamic-Mini-White/dp/B09138FCV5/ref=sr_1_3?d

using slim fans on the rad might give just enough clearance.

but deshrouding the GPU a strapping you own fans to the heatsink can give you the room you need and probably lead to better cooling and lower fan noise.

I deshroud my gf 1070 mini awhile back. 120mm fans are over kill but looks good I think.
