How to change Ram speed/use BIOS

oyvindwien

Hello, I just bought 4 x 8 gb 2666 mhz DDR4 ram, but taskmanager says my RAM runs at 2133 mhz.. I am supposed to enter BIOS right? And I tried to click on memory, but I can't. I can't change most things there, can anyone help?

You can enter bios by spamming delete key on boot up.

Do you know from what manufacturer your motherboard is?

Usually it's under a tab with overclocking.

It depends on what motherboard you have. its mostly brand specific, but can be some variations within each brand.

On asus motherboards its under "AI tweaker"->AI overclock tuner or something like that. You then have to chhose XMP profile, most likely "XMP1")

Acer

Is it a laptop or desktop? I think laptops already run the highest supported by the board. Not sure what board Acer uses for desktops

Probably the original Acer kit. The motherboard will automatically do whatever it thinks the RAM can handle. There's no option for XMP so you can't change it manually
