Samsung magician secure erase does not detect USB drive.

So I have a USB drive, however when I try to erase an NVMe SSD (970evoplus) it does not detect said USB drive.

Is it enough to have the Windows installation media on it?
Does one have to create an entire bootable drive for this and then install magician when booted to that OS, etc?

Please walk me through this 😞

Well seems like I just needed an actual USB drive vs USB HDD.
