Open (at least / convert to dxf would be nice) Autocads proprietary *.dwg format on ubuntu based distros.

Hi! I'm moving to linux, and managed to make almost everything to my linking in PopOS! but I haven't found anything (free) to at least open dwg files. This is crucial to me and my workplace.

Besides this, linux is decent so far.

Thank you in advance.

I know LibreCAD and QCAD can open some AutoCad DWG Files.

QCAD also comes with some CLI utilities as well for converting formats, https://qcad.org/en/qcad-command-line-tools

Those are both 2D Cad Programs however, for 3D I am not aware of any free software to open DWG.

To my understanding, AutoCad's proprietary DWG files have been fairly problematic to reverse engineer.

Thank you! I will try them tomorrow at work.
Edit: Done! It worked with QCAD. Sadly, Librecad does not open the file. Seems like QCAD can open it only in Trial mode (or, ofc, the full version with payment). Anyway it looks like there is not actual time or functionality limitation in the "trial" version.
