is it possible to upgrade the cpu on a toshiba qosmio f60??

Joey H

Most of the first gen mobile core i chips should work in there.

Do you have a dgpu? I think the quad cores from that gen don't have a igpu so you will need the igpu.

i7 640m would be your best cpu upgrade.

However considering that a 640m is like 50$ used on eBay, you’d just be better off saving some actual money and buying a newer machine. Considering a relatively clean shape Thinkpad T440 is under 180$ and haswell i5’s would decimate a first gen mobile i7.
It’s just really not worth upgrading.

The price of a cpu upgrade would basically buy you a better laptop at this point. Are you really going to keep using a right now 11 year old laptop that you want to put windows 11 on and will run terribly?
