Microsoft azure vm

Hello! 

I am working on a keyboard project and have come to the issue of firmware for the keyboard. The keyboard requires lots of software i do not want on my own computer, but i do not understand how Microsoft azure vm works, and if i could connect my keyboard to it and allow the firmware files to move to the keyboard. If Microsoft azure doesn't work well for my purposes could you provide me with a name of something that might work? I would also like to know on whether or not I can connect my keyboard (technically an arduino) to the vm, and transfer the firmware files from the computer, to the vm, without getting a virus on my main computer

Frankly Im a moron, and i often install malware on my computer, this time round im trying to be a little more carfull and the software seems a little sus. I really dont want even an ounce of a pup on my machine lmao.
