Is this m. 2 ssd good for casual gaming?

Bayron

So I found this drive very cheap WD Blue SN550 WDS100T2B0C (1 TB ; M.2; PCIe NVMe 3.0

Is it good for 97 euros?

Site where I found it:  220.lv (have discount there)

Or there are better options? Can't use Amazon or eBay cuz high shipping costs+ taxes in my country.

Tnx for help 🙂

Those are under the equivalent of 90€ here in Norway (890 NOK).

Also there was recently discovered that WD had swapped out components on those with weaker ones without changing the model number.

That doesn't mean they will not work for what you need it for.

They are Dram-less SSD's so for sustained writing the performance can be bad, but for shorter bursts they should be fine.

My brother just got one for his system, and I haven't heard any complaints

Well I currently use hdd(for games) so if it's better than hdd(and my current system ssd kingston a400 240gb) and for price is good enough(yeah there's is no dram but I'm not power user anyway) than should I buy it? My budget is 100 euros.

If you don't mind supporting shady business practices, I think it will be fine for your use case.

Dram-less SSD's can drop down to HDD level write speeds in some cases, but mostly in heavy sustained writing. Like transferring videos or large files to it. In your case downloading and installing games will probably be the biggest "issue" for it, but during gaming and regular use it will be fine

Yes, that one is better. I recommend that one over the WD

It seems to get a bit hot under heavy write sessions, so use a heat sink if available. Some motherboards have them built in for m.2
