Make typed characters not show up in terminal - Python

does anyone know a way to make it so when your pressing keys with a python project running for them to not show up in the terminal, I'm trying to make a game in the terminal and its really annoying when the characters show up in the terminal. I'm using pynput to check for keyboard input and I don't want the characters showing up in the terminal.

you can always print a SET-CURSOR COLUMN -1 and then print a space

like this?

print(SET-CURSOR COLUMN -1)
print(' ')

I don't think I did this right.

Nonono... the escape character to do that. I think something like on every keypress

print("\b ")
