is it also safe to test like that if a software to be installed contains virus?

unless the virus/malware is very sophisticated, its unlikely that it can escape a sandbox. if you are worried about that sort of stuff, then get a usb, install linux to it, and run the vm on that. if the virus escapes, it will be inside a linux machine where its extremely unlikely that it will be able to do anything.
