EKWB vector strix leaking

Dear LTT forum

I have built my first watercooled build, leaktestet it and it looked all good (testet with the ekwb leaktester). Left the loop running for 3 h, then hooked up my components. With the gpu arround 45-50 degrees celsius it startet leaking, but not from the fittings, i checked the papertowels underneath them. it looks like liquid got trough the gasket from the vector strix between the plexy seal.

has anyone ever expirienced something like this?

what can i do? i opened a support-ticket at ekwb

are you sure its liquid? Looks like the grease from O-ring to me. Did it actually produce puddles?

you could open it, check the o-ring, and then reseal it. Or just let EK handle it/

very easy. th4e only thing that can go wrong is that you overtighten the screws and crack the acrylic.

I don't know currently if EK voids warranty for opening their block.  They seem like the sort of brand that would but I think it was a few years ago they took off the stupid "warranty void if removed" stickers.

I'd probably just email them and ask if they could mail me a new o-ring.  You don't even need to unmount the block from the card to replace it but I wouldn't be touching it until they confirm it won't void it.

Also @OP it doesn't look like your rightmost 8 pin power connector is seated all the way.

EK has a "Guaranteed leak free warranty" which is broken when you open their blocks, however the warranty in itself is not broken when you open their blocks. Given that that its leaking already, it didn't do much in the first place.
