27" 1440p monitor for productivity around 160GBP

Looking for a monitor for a friend.

 

I wanna recommend a dell 'P' series monitor (especially because the stands they have are really nice and you can rotate it and all that.

 

Just wondering if theres any other big players and good ones? Or anything which is the default best? It will be used for coding, googling, etc etc. Its the secondary to a 13inch laptop.

In that price range 1080p is probably more realistic. Is there a reason they want to have a 1440p display?

they dont but i have strongly suggested, why would you not? So much better for productivity.

 

Are you telling me no 27inch 1440p exists for that price? (can stretch budget to maybe sub 200, i deffo know thats possible). They can also get student discount (15 percent discount on dell monitors and others).

While 1440p with a 27" screen size will be nice from a pixel density perspective, as CT854 indicated you're going to be pretty limited for that price point. Doing a quick Newegg search only shows reburbs.

 

Smaller screen or lower resolution will give you more options.

I think it's been discontinued, but I paid $130 USD for a 27" 1440p AOC monitor earlier this year. If you can't find anything in your price range, you could try to find either a 2009 or 2010 27" iMac to use as a monitor. They don't have adjustable stands like a normal monitor would, but they can usually be found for reasonable prices, and they have excellent displays. Not the most ideal solution, but it's a great way to get a good monitor.
