Affordable cloud backup for home truenas server

IzzyHope58

I just built a home nas server with trunas recently. I know about the 123 backup rule and want to follow it but having a hard time thinking about how I'll make it work without going broke. I'm planing on using my nas as my main storage device (aka I won't have files on my actual pc minus games). What should I do for off site backup for my server. About 10tb btw. Somthing like backblaze personal doesn't work on server and a lot of the server cloud backup services are super expensive. I know I have to spend some money but I don't want to go broke. Crashplan seems afordable but I've heard some bad things about crashplan. Should I consider crashplan or avoid it considering its just personal storage. Are there other options that aren't really expensive. I'm also using a ZFS array and made it so that 2 drives can fail before I loose my data, can I count that as my 2nd onsite copy as long as I have something offsite. Sorry if this is a dumb question I just want to make sure I have a good offsite backup but I don't have a lot of money to spair.

alternatively you could keep a pc at a mates house or your parents house if their internet is good enough and they have uncapped data. could be cheaper than paying per terabyte online. just an idea

While that doesn't work for me now (I still live with my parents) in about a year that would actually work perfectly. Thanks

You could go for backblaze's B2, or Wasabi, it isn't much more expensive over their personal plan.

No, that doesn't count as a second copy. It's still a single copy of the data, but with fault tolerance.

Check out Amazon glacier. It's low cost, long term cold storage.
