Overclock Locked CPU

I have a i5 3rd generation and was wondering if I could overclock it. I have a Dell motherboard from a optiplex 7010.

you cant

at least with that motherboard

if it were a z77 board you might have been able to tweak BLCK to some success

if it was useful give it a like :) btw if your into linux pay a visit here

I suspect no. I don't think Dell allows changing the multiplier in their BIOS, and this assumes you got an unlocked CPU in the first place.

¯\_(ツ)_/¯

No, because system providers really don't like overclocking your best bet is try to find a decent used mobo like a

Even then you probably cant do much, if you have a locked CPU. Getting a new board for that chip won't be worth it

Just build a new system

Or just swap the cpu for a k cpu, put some cooling on the vrms, then overclock via throttlestop

If you wanna mess with voltages you can prob mess with voltmodding though its prob gonna be a pain in the ass

Probably not a single on as a dell uses specific front panel connectors
