Is my new ordered RAM a laptop's RAM or desktop?

Hey guys,

I'm really confused by this , I ordered Crucial RAM to upgrade my laptop and the RAM looks quite big, can you please tell me if it's laptop RAM?

This is a pic of the back:

I ordered this RAM based on Crucial scanner that gave me this result:

The appearance is very similar, but isn't this RAM a desktop RAM?

Thanks in advance

So Crucial just recommended me to buy Desktop RAM? It's crazy, I ran their scanner on my laptop and they brought this RAM up as recommendation

sure mate. But first we need to know what you have in now. So download Cpu-z https://www.cpuid.com/softwares/cpu-z.html and look up like this.image.png.72f38516d7e0832c5dadb85b7a2e58a3.png

arhh Ram is hard to get the good stuff for rarely you know is single vs dual ranks and 1R x16 or 2R x8. And it should just work, but maybe you need to clear Cmos battery to work if it does not.

Thanks so much mate it looks exactly like the desktop but just laptop version

Is there a way to know before buying? Maybe contact Crucial? Or just get it and try what do you think?

Thanks a lot

You welcome mate. And you can see the size. Laptop is DDR4 SO-DIMM 260 pin and Desktop DDR4 is DIMM 288 pin.

Yes it's shocking that Crucial scanner recommends you to buy desktop ram when it identifies a laptop

Thanks a lot!

I am impressed) Sadly there are no single 64 gig stics, tho timings would be in 20s

Futureproof your builds and try not to fry anything
