Mini ITX?

Hey,

I'm looking to build a pc and after selecting the main parts, came across two options.

I'm going to be using an i7 10700f + RTX 3070 in any one of these two case configurations

  • NZXT H510 + MSI MAG B460M BAZOOKA + Antec NeoEco 750 Gold PSU + NOCTUA NH-U12S CHROMAX BLACK

  • NZXT H210 + MSI MPG B560I Gaming + Included with NZXT H1 = NP-SP650M + Included with NZXT H1 = 140MM AIO

Should I get the mini ITX build or should I get the bigger one? I've seen Austin Evan's video where he uses a 5600x along with a 3060ti in the H210 build. I don't have much of a space constraint but I would 100% love to get the smaller one if the temps would not have that much of a difference. Which one would you recommend? And are the other parts compatible? Also should I be worried about upgradability since I think that case can only fit a two fan gpu and I might upgrade to a newer card in the next 3-5 years; would good gpus then still have a two fan model?

We never know, but make sure your gpu DOES fit because you never know.

Yep, I've checked and the MSI 3070 does fit. Which of the two configs would you recommend?

Both of those cases are hot boxes with little airflow. In both of them your components will get hot. So no, the temps would not have much difference. 🤣

Neither. Get a case with actually good airflow.

Ditch the nzxt cases unless youd like dealing with burning and throttling components

Id suggest the phanteks p200a or nr200 since they have decent airflow and are not literal pc baking ovens

I think youll wanna go amd since intel runs really hot and in an itx environment thats the last thing you want, maybe a 5800x instead of the 10700f?

like @HairlessMonkeyBoysaid, both of the cases are bad, because they basically have no airflow, a case with more airflow is preferable

I've heard lots of reviews saying the same thing but many others still say that it runs fine, like JayzTwoCents and Austin Evans who both did builds in the same case with acceptable temps.

I actually do want to go 5800x but its really damn expensive and not that good of a deal for me. I thought of going either with a 5600x or a 10700f and for my use case, the 10700f took the win.

Well the 10700f will do just fine unless you put it in a pc baking oven (looking at you nzxt cases)

Montech x1, neo silent, forge 100r for the cheaper cases

P400a, 4000d, pure base 500dx for the somewhat more expensive options

Nothing i can reccomend above 150$ as that is a diminishing returns zone for quality and all you are paying for is the brand and/or rainbow puke lights

The Meshify 2 compact is - also a good case with 3 included fans, 2x140mm and 1x120mm. Looks expensive at first but with quality fans included and good build quality.

Generally speaking, Small cheap hotboxes exist plenty, good airflow cases for sensible amount of money few and high airflow ITX cases tend to cost a premium.

My Meshify 2 compact is the same length as my previous Fractal Define nano s, which was an ITX case. So really think about your use case and if you really want to spend the premium on the case and motherboard, but not on the CPU while also be limited by your choice of GPU

Cant use any of these cases since the guys from whom I'm buying from dont have them on hand. They only have Antec, Lian Li, MSI, NZXT, Ant Esport and Deepcool cases.
