Taking pictures of your computer, tips and tricks please ?

Hey, so i am wanting to take some really nice pictures of my PC with my Iphone, but the RGB always comes out way too in your face( i have tried with tempered glass on and off). Was wondering if any of you guys have tips for taking pictures or would it just be better with an actual camera xD

An actual camera is better 99% of the time. In iPhones there’s not a way to set the ISO right? I believe you can tap on one of the rgb strips in the iphones camera app, and it’ll adjust the brightness to match that.

If it comes up that way in your camera, it probably is. You can try shooting in manual mode with low ISO and fast shutter time.

So using getting one of those manual camera apps should do the trick ?

You iphone should let you change the exposure pretty easily by pressing and holding and then moving your finger up or down. Then lower the brightness so it doesn't clip. Then you can edit the rest of the photo

Can you show a example? Normally rgb likes to clip in cameras as its super bright.

I don't see a use for a high shutter speed here. nothing is moving, so you can get away with a pretty slow shutter, and it can remove any flicker of the pwm lots of rgb lights use.

Well you are missing a big factor. Faster the shutter shuts, less light is able to get into sensor, thus less RGB blindness/over exposure. This is also why high speed cameras require insane light power.

But on a phone, just lower the exposure comp. Much easier, and you can do it in the app. This normally just lowers Iso, and unless your room is very well lit, you won't have enough light for a lower iso and high shutter speed on a phone.

1. lower RGB a bit.

2. LIGHTING. Turn on most/all of the lights in a room; get a flashlight or similar and reflect light off of a surface towards your computer. Consider a computer monitor/tablet near the system with the screen set to white or near white. Even an old phone could help

This, this, this and this.

Basically when you have a light source directly in the frame, those lights would blow out the picture. (An example would be your RGB lights, or sometimes in my case my computer monitor or phone screen.)  This is exacerbated when the rest of the room is relatively dark (like some pictures of people's setups I've seen, although I prefer a well-lit environment).  When you lower the exposure compensation (that's the term I learned, idk if there's a more n00b-friendly term) to make the exposure darker, the lights might look nicer, but you might not be able to see much else depending on your camera.

You might have to experiment with various lighting settings, like dropping the brightess on the RGB lights, turning the room lights up, or some combination of that.  Also if your phone / camera has an HDR mode you could try that as well.
