Let's assume that there is something wrong with this combination, what would it be?

That you're being paranoid about it and that it will work fine but is a bit odd to buy since there are other options that can be better depending on the use case.

Lol, it is just youtubers and people are always putting 3800x with a b550s not less, and i wanted to make sure that there is no other reason but the pcie gen4 that is really hard to get any benefits out of it!

The 3800x doesn't even support gen 4. The reason b550s are used is because it's the new stuff and gives you the option to use gen4 IF you ever decide to upgrade the cpu to a ryzen 5000. Either way normally the pro 4 is more expensive than the msi mortar max or bazooka max both boards are better than it so might want to get that or if lucky the Msi tomahawk max is up for grabs for cheap.

 

Also keep in mind the 3800x is a lot more expensive (normally) than the 3700x but barely better.

 

What are you even doing on this pc? If it's gaming skip the 3800x and get a 5600 it's flat out better.
