Old laptop ram upgrade

Took apart my old laptop to upgrade from a hdd to ssd. I noticed an access slot for ram upgrade. There’s only one stick of 4 gigs and I presume by the looks of it the other 4 gigs is soldered to the board. Kinda annoying but I guess I can still upgrade the ram, if I got an 8 gig stick I’d just have 12 gig total. Kinda weird I wish I could replace it all as one brand

Is there a question here? Having soldered RAM combined with a regular slot isn't unheard of. It can be annoying, but it's better than completely soldered memory.
