Just a guess but if it has an internal battery then maybe you can use it as a Bluetooth speaker with your phone?

i think not. The AC power cord is permanently attached to the bar.

running through the manual quick it looks like its just an input selection for the 3.5mm AUX port on the back, not sure why they called it that.
