Strick Radeon RX 580 and Motherboards sound conflict or setting .

DJ Phenomenal AJ

Hi good day Linus , I have had this problem , when i decided to upgrade to a new gamming PC .

So i went with B 450 Gaming Plus MAX  and Strix Radeon RX 580  8GB . AMD Ryzen 5 Pro 4650G CPU 16 Gb mem and other stuff not important.

Every work grate , speed good , except one thing no sound , which to me at the time was basic and easy fix , I'm a IT person not as Linus for sure .

But base on all the years of PC repairs including laptop repairs , this  lost of sound is beating me .

I went as far to call another tec guy always bosting , he ask if i check this and chick that  , and my answers was yes  to all , i even took it to him , and still nothing he found .

So i assume the motherboard was faulty ,  email MSI got a ticket of my complaint , and that nothing came out of it , so i just but a USB sound card . when i thought was the end of that motherboard.

After 3mts i decided to rebuild the system , just because of that motherboard ,  i sole every thing but GPU ,  Case and Power Supply .

I buy the AMD Ryzen 9 3900x CPU , B550 Aorus Elite AX and 4500 Gb ram all same speed .

Do you know i have the same problem of no sound from the motherboard .

LInus  explain what going on here , i check bios , drivers  , i know I'm missing something  , WHAT IS IT , SOME SETTING  I DID NOT CHANGE IN BIOS .

HELP HELP      I'm back on my sound card i didn't sell .

How are you trying to get the sound? through 3.5mm outputs on the motherboard, through HDMI/DP through motherboard or through DP/HDMI on your graphics card?

Make sure you quote or @Leventmight not see that you replied. They don't get notifications on the thread just because they replied.

Have you updated Realtek drivers?

I'm not actually trying to be as grumpy as it seems.

I will find your mentions of Ikea or Gnome and I will /s post.

Does your monitor have a 3.5mm connector? Have you tried that?

I WILL find your ITX build thread, and I WILL recommend the SIlverstone Sugo SG13B

-> Moved to Troubleshooting

Also removed your email. Posting email publicly is very good way to get spam and subscribed to all kind of junk. Additionally, this or any other troubleshooting video is not what LTT does. They only troubleshoot their own gear. JayzTwoCents is the one doing viewer troubleshooting. But if you want to make actual video suggestion, correct thread is:

Welcome to the forums! First of all Linus doesn’t read through topics, you get answer from the community.

Secondly, go to Control Panel>hardware and sound>change system sounds. Go to the “playback” tab and disable all of the AMD audio outputs and set the motherboard audio as default.
