What to do with iPhone 4?

Curesto

Hi, i found relative's old iPhone 4 on box. It's on working condition, only the battery bit faulty. Phone shuts down when battery charge left %20.

It's 16 GB version.

Most iOS apps requires iOS 10. This device has 7.1.2

I've managed to install "Smash Hit" game as it supports old devices.

What to do with this device? Thanks.

Sell it.

I mean, working one can be vintage soon, right? right?

Personally i would keep it if it has any nostalgia value for you. Another would be to abuse the shit out of ios standby time and use it as an emergency caller if you dont have landlines, but with how you say that the battery is nearing its death, a replacement would be very much recommended before you do that. Another would be to use it as a sideload testbed.

Leave it as nostalgia. If you try to sell it, it will cost between 200-400 TL in Turkey. It's not even worth the money. The field is no more.

Use it as a second or third monitor screen using splashtop or the likes, just to show system info like cpu/gpu temp.

Other use can be as a cctv with ip cam app.

Pair it with bluetooth obd2 for your car and you can monitor many things.

Using it as a dedicated music player is probably your best bet. The iPhone 4 is rather slow on iOS 7.1.2.

This is what i'm thinking. It has suprisingly great headphone performance and i'm sure it would make decent MP3 Player.

I converted an old ipad mini into a display monitor. I have a rpi running MotionEyeOS (surveillance system) which streams to a local ip address. The ipad simply has a browser open to that ip address so I am able monitor what's happening on our front porch in real time.

I've also used it as a scoreboard monitor during football and basketball season...lol
