Free Acer predator helios 300 with a fried gpu

so i got a free gaming laptop from my brother. it's an acer predator helios 300 with an i7 8770hq and a gtx 1060. he said it blew out smoke and turned off. upon further inspection, it appears to be one of the gpu power inductors, that has blown. can someone please help me out? i don't know if it took anything else out with it, and i havent powered up the laptop since. is there a way to cut the power to the gpu entirely, and just use integrated graphics? also i'm comfortable with soldering.

so i did some research and saw a few different laptops being rescued by ripping some power inductors on the motherboard. so i decided to try, found a motherboard schematic and found 2 main power leads to the gpu. i de-soldered them and my laptop fired up on first try. the 1060 is still being detected but i just disable it in device manager so it doesn't

cause any issues. now running beautifully on integrated gpu, and a lot cooler and quieter.
