10700 non k , how to chose RAM & etc

Hey all.

I am building my GF a pc for video editing mainly.

I would like to make sure if I am doing it right, checking the right RAM speed for this CPU.

Is it the max speed?!

How to chose corectly the ram for the cpu?

ALso, if you have any other suggestions for the build.

Ill be glad.

Thanks

That’s the stock speed for that chip but you can OC the RAM on compatible motherboards like z590 and b560, it depends on the motherboard but since you aren’t using a k SKU CPU, I’d stick with a b560 motherboard

If I understand right, If i take 3600mhz  i will noe use the full 3600. but only portion, unless I will overclock. ?!

Is there a suggestion in this casE?

Yeah, it will default to stock speeds unless you enable XMP in BIOS, it’s not hard or remotely dangerous

the worst thing that can happen is that your computer will turn off and on a few times in a row and then go back to stock speeds

stick with XMP profiles for overclocking and you’ll be just fine

Thanks. I used to do it in my old 4790k build, only to find out, that ram was not compatible with cpu ro MB so coulndt overclock. XD

Thanks

Agree, but to add to this, a 10th gen chip on a 500 series motherboard usually renders the top m.2 slot unusable. So make sure the board has enough slots otherwise.

If you have a decent enough motherboard, it will have at least 2 m.2 slots. Plus you have (most of) the SATA still. Just keep that in mind. For 99% of applications there's no perceivable difference between NVME and SATA
