How to tell if a card is used or not

Need help, please and thank you.

i just got delivery of a prebuilt from cyberpower, it has a gigabyte geforce rtx 3080. here is my concern, the model is GV-N3080GAMING OC-10GD rev.1.0. is it just me or is the likelihood that a revision 1 is used? am i being paranoid? are there any tests that would support or disprove this? is there a way to track the serial? any suggestions for a newbie would be helpful.

Why would it be used? The revision number doesn't really mean anything. The only way you'd be able to tell is if there's any built up dust in the heatsink, but if it's a new computer then there won't be any.

The revision number means nothing.

The rev..2.0 is the LHR version.

Do system integrators use returned refurbished RMA parts in their prebuilts? Some definitely do, don't know about Cyberpower.

First thing I'd look at are the connectors for power and video out. If those have a bunch of marks on them then id ask about it being used if not enjoy your new PC

No cpu mobo or ram atm

one post online claimed that the serial number begins with 4 digits that indicate the year and week that it was made. anyone know if there is any truth to this?
