yea, no problem, sorry i couldnt help, but this *is* weird, both windows update medic and sfc scannow are supposed to exactly fix such issues.

Hopefully reinstall fixes it *fingers crossed*

np my guy. i reinstalled and everything is normal now

found out about this error because i was selected for the halo infinite testing and ofc, I'm excited to play. went to the Microsoft store to download the Xbox insider hub, and got this error, didn't know what the error code was so i said fuck it, and thought id upgrade to win 11 and then see if it worked or not. Guess what, cant do that either. now here's the weird part, this wasn't always an issue, I have downloaded things from the Microsoft store before, and i have upgraded to win 11 through the dev channel before( came back because i didn't like the general aesthetic) and I've install stuff from the Microsoft store After coming back to win 10, and I have done all that very recently, its not even been a month since i built my PC.

So like any other fixes i googled some fixes, and one of them have worked. I tried doing the command prompt thingy a site suggested, I've tried doing the 'w10-wuauserv' thingy multiple times, I've even used the windows installation media tool to repair windows. Not once. Twice. nothing worked, please help me figure out what's wrong and how to fix it guys, and i hope there's a fix for this other than a straight reinstall of windows.

Thanks

Make sure the windows update service is actually running and set to automatic.

Open Start.

Search for Services and click the top result to open the console.

Double-click the service

Check its set to automatic then restart the service.

Then reboot PC.

Check again if its actually  running, then check for updates.

hmm thats weird!

then try restarting the windows  update medic service, also set it to automatic (and restart the PC)

if that doesnt work, try this

Otherwise i think you'll need to reinstall tbh.
