Why do Corsair AIOs suck?

Is it because their fans are trash? I notice that Arctic's AIO beats everything out their with $10.50 P14 fans. Is there another reason why most  AIOs, including Corsair's, are so bad? I assumed since they all use similar pumps and radiators that the insane difference in noise and thermals has to be the fans.

Corsair has been in the AIO Watercooler business for a while. I've used their AIOs on three separate builds and all performed as expected for a decent price. Their older AIO models were louder but only got quieter with each revision. As long if you set it up in your case properly that is.

There's essentially like 2 cooler designs AIOs use. They mostly are all Asetek due to some copyright dealio. I personally don't think Corsairs AIOs are trash. Maybe not top shelf but they are also inexpensive and have a hardware warranty

Just keeping this here as a This. Most AIOs are Asetek design and there's licensing there. More and more AIOs are starting to try new types of designs, mostly to get out from under the thumb of Asetek, and many of these designs (like Artic's) are actually superior. However, while it may not be the best performing, Asetek-style coolers are a known quantity, and you can easily count on 5-7 years of solid service out of them. Other designs haven't even been on the market that long, so their ultimate lifetime and reliability is not yet proven.

I’ve used Corsair AIO’s for years now and they certainly not “trash.” My H115i keeps my 5800x nice and cool while being inaudible and my brother cools a 5900x with a H110i without issue.

Wouldn’t say they’re trash. I’ve had an older h115i and am currently an a h150i capelliix. They perform well and are reliable/quality but they aren’t usually the cheapest. I’ve also had a number of their fans. My 150i is good but the fans are jet engines at higher rpms and the price is definitely towards aesthetics. I’ve had an Arctic 240 and have a 360 on the way to replace the h150i just because icue drives me nuts and I use open back headphones and want to go back to the quiet of Arctic. The price is great even after the increases and performance is top notch but the look isn’t for everybody, as everyone else said they’re different markets. If you want good performance for a good price then look at Arctic, if you want good performance and care about rgb syncing up then look at Corsair.

Also worth mentioning that the fans Arctic are using is the second best 120 fans u can get. while corsair ,.. weeell..

(and they have the same fan design as P14 ofc)

Yes, you're right; the reason most AIOs suck is because they sell colors, not performance. And I bet more people choose bad+expensive+lights over good+cheap, because ___.

 

I just want to know why they can't figure out how to make good+expensive+lights. But capitalism I guess? Slap $0.85 of LEDs on your crappy fan, price it higher than the best performing fans. Slap your LED-fan on patented, proven AIO technology, now you've managed to make it suck, and price it as some kind of "luxury" product because of $2 of LEDs.

i mean.. ppl buy iphones still and they dont even come with usb c, and u need to pay alot of $ for no usb c. 

some ppl would pick "ok" temps and nice RGB with corsair over 10c better temps and bad RGB, cuz when ur cpu hits 70c with the corsair, what's the point of complain about temps

I don't think Corsair's AIO's suck, but I think they're way overpriced for their performance, you can get the same performance from a Noctua D-15 air cooler.

I tried a H110 and I didn't like the pump noise, and the included fans were loud, but the pump noise and fans might not be annoying to everyone. I also prefer air cooling anyway because there isn't any risk of water leaking, and the pump in an AIO can also fail leaving you without a cooler.

The flashy RGB gamer stuff sells, no need for a company to invest in a decent fan with good acoustics and airflow, just take a $5 fan, put some LED's on it and people spend $100 on a pack of RGB fans.

And the dumbest RGB thing I think there is yet are RGB headsets, you can't see the LED's while you're wearing it. I personally refuse to buy Corsair because I don't want to buy from a brand that overhypes expensive RGB junk.

Does Corsair even make anything? I think they are just a fancier Thermaltake. They don’t make the products you love, they just put their name on it.
